Content updated:
For marble cutting, select a diamond blade explicitly suited to the stone and machine. The description “4-inch” is only a starting point: verify actual diameter, bore, cutting method and the finish required.
Natural marble varies in composition, veining and tendency to chip. Tell the supplier whether the task is a straight cut, trimming or an approved chamfering operation. These are not automatically interchangeable uses.
Review rim design, blade thickness and segment height together. Confirm that the mounting hole and guard fit the machine. Use only the marked operating limits and permitted cooling method.
Trial the candidate on representative marble and record edge finish and wear. Do not select by colour, a generic “premium” label or an unsupported promise of chip-free cutting. Ask for a confirmed specification before a wholesale order.
Give the supplier the proposed operation and a representative piece or clear description of the marble. The specification should distinguish a cutting task from an edge-forming task.
| Selection question | What to provide |
|---|---|
| Material | Marble identification, thickness and visible veins or defects |
| Operation | Straight cutting, trimming or a separately approved chamfer |
| Machine fit | Actual metric diameter, bore and machine model |
| Finish requirement | Visible edge, allowance for later finishing and rejection criteria |
| Candidate reference | Exact model and the instructions that accompany it |
Start with a model listed for the relevant application, then confirm the supplied version. Keep the sample reference with the quotation so a visually similar disc is not substituted.
