Marble work can include straight cuts, trimming and edge preparation. Each operation requires a suitable tool; a disc sold for cutting must not be assumed approved for side grinding or chamfering.
Match the blade to the marble, slab thickness and equipment. State whether the edge will remain visible or receive further finishing. Evaluate the actual stone rather than relying on a general material label.
For a bevel or chamfer, request a tool designed and approved for that operation. Confirm the working faces, mounting and guard requirements. Do not use side pressure on a cutting-only disc to create an edge profile.
Record the approved model and trial conditions. Include the dimensions, finish requirement, quantity and packaging details in a repeat enquiry so a similar-looking blade is not substituted.
A product specification should state which operation and working surfaces it covers. A familiar disc shape does not answer that question.
| Requirement | Straight-cut enquiry | Chamfer enquiry |
|---|---|---|
| Result | A specified cut through or along the material | A specified edge geometry |
| Tool approval | Cutting application for the exact model | Express approval for the intended edge operation |
| Material detail | Stone and thickness | Stone, edge condition and required finish |
| Evidence | Sample cut and specification | Sample edge and operation-specific instructions |
Ask about the permitted working face before choosing a tool for an edge operation. Keep that answer with the model reference rather than applying it to an entire blade family.
