A compact granite blade needs the same careful inspection as a larger blade. Maintenance should follow its instructions and the machine manual, not a fixed cleaning chemical or generic cutting-and-rest schedule.
Inspect the rim, core and bore with the machine disconnected. Remove the blade from service if it is cracked, distorted or missing segments. Clean residue using approved methods without spreading stone dust.
Confirm that the granite, cutting method and machine match the blade specification. Reduced cutting speed may reflect glazing or a mismatch rather than ordinary end-of-life wear. Do not force a struggling blade.
Protect the blade from impact and distortion. Keep its identifying information so a replacement can be matched accurately. Do not apply an oil, solvent or dressing treatment unless the supplier specifically permits it.
Small blades can have similar appearance but different actual dimensions. Maintenance records should preserve identification rather than relying on the nominal inch label.
Use the general maintenance guide for cleaning and storage topics. This page focuses on identification and replacement records for a compact granite-cutting setup.
